Thomas Danby
Thomas Danby was born in England in 1818. Son and pupil of the better-known romantic artist Francis Danby, he was a prolific watercolourist and was elected a full member of the (Old) Society of Painters in Watercolours in 1870. He exhibited at the Royal Institution and the Royal Academy throughout his career. Failing to achieve honours at the RA, Danby was elected RHA in 1860. He resided in London, where he died in 1886. www.whytes.ie
