Séamus O Cólmáin
Séamus O Cólmáin was born in Dublin in 1925. He attended the National College of Art and Design in Dublin in addition to studying in Paris for a period. O Cólmáin is known as a streetscape and portrait painter who focused particularly on everyday scenes of Dublin life, though he also produced rural and coastal scenes throughout Ireland. Séamus O Cólmáin worked for a time as a remedial art teacher and had several successful exhibitions at the David Hendricks Gallery, Ritchie Hendricks Gallery, the Oriel Gallery and Lincoln Gallery. He also participated in numerous RHA Annual Exhibitions, Oireachtas and Irish Exhibitions of Living Art. His work is included in the collections of the Arts Council of Ireland, Queen's University, Belfast and Waterford Municipal Art Gallery.
