Conor Fallon

He moved to Cornwall and joined the St. Ives group of artists of whom Tony OMalley was a prominent member and an important influence for Fallon. At St. Ives he met the artist Nancy Wynne-Jones whom he married. www.whytes.ie It was under the guidance of Denis Mitchell that Fallon specialised in sculpture and he held his first exhibition in 1972, in Nanly Orion. He held solo exhibitions in the Emmet and Taylor Galleries Dublin as well as in the US and Canada and also produced large scale works for public commission. In 1968 Fallon was elected to the Newlyn Society of Arts and in 1980 he received the Oireachtas Gold Medal for Sculpture. Fallon was a member of Aosdαna, and became a fellow of the RHA in 1989.
